The Swim Global Project is a worldwide initiative committed to preventing drowning and promoting water safety education. Our mission is to reduce drowning incidents globally by empowering communities with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary for safe water practices. We envision a world where everyone can enjoy water activities safely, regardless of their location or background.
Role Overview
As an SGP Ambassador, you will be the face and voice of the Swim Global Project in your community and beyond. You will represent our mission and vision, working collaboratively with a global network of ambassadors to share insights, strategies, and stories that advance drowning prevention efforts. This role offers a unique platform to highlight your community's needs and successes while contributing to a global movement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Represent SGP's Mission and Vision
- Actively promote the Swim Global Project's goals within your community.
- Uphold and communicate the values of SGP in all engagements.
2. Community Engagement
- Organize and participate in local events, workshops, and campaigns focused on drowning prevention and water safety.
- Collaborate with schools, community centers, and local organizations to integrate water safety education.
- Identify and address specific drowning risks within your community.
3. Global Collaboration
- Participate in regular virtual meetings and forums with fellow SGP Ambassadors worldwide.
- Share experiences, challenges, and best practices related to drowning prevention in your region.
- Contribute to the development of global strategies and resources.
4. Advocacy and Awareness
- Utilize social media, local media, and other platforms to raise awareness about drowning prevention.
- Create and share content (articles, videos, testimonials) that highlights local stories and SGP initiatives.
- Engage with policymakers and stakeholders to advocate for improved water safety regulations and programs.
5. Reporting and Feedback
- Provide regular updates on your activities and community impact.
- Offer feedback to SGP leadership on resources, training needs, and program effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Passion for Water Safety: A strong commitment to preventing drowning and promoting safe water practices.
- Community Involvement: Established connections within your local community and a willingness to engage actively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in your local language (and English, if possible).
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, motivate others, and drive change.
- Cultural Awareness: Understanding of local customs, traditions, and challenges related to water safety.
- Digital Literacy: Proficiency with basic digital tools and platforms for communication and content creation.
